UMPIRES AND SCORERS

The Yorkshire Cricket Board have established a Working Party with the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers to develop a “Pathways for Umpires” programme.

The Working Party is as follows

Ron Tindall (representing the Leagues)

A four fold programme has been developed to complement the excellent work of the ACU&S in training

SEMINAR

The Annual April Seminar for all Umpires was held at Headingley on 13th April 2003. It is hoped to repeat this event on an annual basis.

The programme was as follows

Video analysis

Practical session umpiring errors 

Managing Players management techniques 

Guest Speakers Nigel Plews and John Reid

REPRESENTATIVE PANEL

The Working Party has also drawn up a list of 16 Umpires from senior League nominations which will provide a panel for representative matches from Under14s / 15s upwards in 2003.

These umpires (who have to be under 60) will be assessed by managers and Assessors and the aim is that the best will be promoted to more senior games and eventually to County 2nd Xl level.
